  • Bei dem Versuch diese Datei aufzusuchen, bekam ich die Meldung, dass ich keinen Zugriff auf c:\windows\temp habe. Das habe ich dann geändert.
    Danach liefen die restlichen Updates dann einwandfrei.

    Somit ist der Fehler gelöst. Besten Dank für die Unterstützung

    habe das gleiche Problem mit Nero 2015.
    OS ist Win 7, 64 Bit
    Benutzer haben alle Rechte für den Temp Ordner.
    In dem Temp Ordner werden keine Nero Log Dateien angelegt.

    Ich habe das gleiche Problem. Hier die Beschreibung:

    Ich habe Nero 2014 auf Windows 10 64Bit installiert. Es handelt sich um ein Dual-boot System, da ich zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt eine SSD nachgerüstet habe und W10 darauf installiert habe, ohne die W10-Originalinstallation von der HDD zu löschen.

    Beim Herunterladen eines Update für Nero WaveEditor und/oder Nero SoundTrax mit Nero ControlCenter (Version 11.4.0017) bekomme ich folgende Meldung "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden".

    Ich bin beim Update mit Administrator-Konto angemeldet und habe Vollzugriff zu den Temp-Ordnern unter Windows\Temp, als auch unter meinem Konto, AppData\Local\Temp (welches von beiden Windows 10-Betriebssystemen genutzt wird).
    Leider ist keine Nero.log Datei unter Windows\Temp für diese Aktion zu finden (D.h. es gibt eine Nero.Update.log.4 Datei unter Windows\Temp, die jedoch von einem anderen Update stammt).

    Da dieses Problem schon früher auftrat, habe ich vor zwei Tagen Nero neu installiert. Danach konnte ich mit einigen Problemen Nero auf den neusten Stand bringen, mit Ausnahme der beiden oben genannten Nero-Komponenten.

    Gibt es einen Grund für diese Meldung?
    Wenn ja, was kann ich tun um das Problem zu beheben?

    Ich habe folgendes Versucht:

    1) Wie empfohlen habe ich ncc.exe im Win7 Kompatibilitätsmodus und als Administrator ausgeführt.
    Resultat: NCC konnte noch nicht einmal nach Updates suchen. Es gab die Meldung, dass ein unbekannter Fehler auftrat.

    2) Ich habe Avast Free AntiVirus und Windows Firewall deaktiviert und ncc.exe im normalen Modus ausgeführt.
    Resultat: NCC gab wieder die Fehlermeldung: "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden" beim Download.

    3) NCC im Win7 Kompatibilitätsmodus und als Administrator; Firewall und Avast deaktiviert.
    Resultat: Suche nach Updates funktionierte. Beim Download erneut Fehlermeldung "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden".

    Es gibt keine neuen Nero log Dateien unter Windows\temp. Auch unter [mein Konto]\AppData\Local\Temp und Nero* Unterordner konnte ich nichts finden.

    Nero Burning ROM Version: 15.0.25001

    Ich hoffe, dass irgendein Hinweis zu finden ist, warum NCC kein Update macht.

    You have the last update to v14. As a result, there should be no updates to those applications. I know that doesn't explain the problem you're having but you're wasting your time trying to update them through the Nero Control Center. If you think they're not up to date, you can go to nero.com, downloads, previous products downloads, Nero 14 versions and download/install the version there. It should be completely up to date.

    You can download the latest free versions of those applications from nero.com, downloads and install them. When installed, they will replace the existing versions in v14.

    Thanks for your quick answer.

    I know that all my Nero 2014 programs are up to date. However, two programs are shown as outdated, which is Nero WaveEditor and Nero SoundTrax, which are not part of Nero 2014, as I understand the matter. Yet, NCC offers me to update them as well, which unfortunately fails.

    Now my questions are:
    Will my version of Nero 2014 be the latest anyway, so that I would never need NCC?
    Or will Nero 2014 Updates be available in future?
    In case there are updates in future, will I have to download the programs directly from the website, as you mention?
    Or is there a way to have NCC working properly?

    In case you know if NCC would be needed in future, it would be nice if I could get it working on my system.

  • There haven't been any updates since about 2015 and there won't be any more. As I mentioned, the installation file from the website will be completely up to date.

    It has suddenly dawned on me that both of those apps weren't part of the v14 installation. They became free tools when v12 was released, I believe, and one had to download and install them separately. Ditto, if you want to update them with the latest versions. Sorry it took me so long to think of that.

    Open your versions of those apps and click on Help, About............ What are the version numbers?

  • Don't worry about these two free tools.

    As a matter of fact, I just downloaded the installation files for the three free tools (SoundTrax, WaveEditor and CoverDesigner). At the moment WaveEditor 2017 is downloading and hopefully will be installed (it's taking a little longer since we have very slow internet connection (ADSL 512/256 kb/s).
    After downloading and installing them, I assume that those three programs are up to date.

    However, question: How would I be able to check if updates are available for these 3 free tools? Will NCC 2014 be able to tell? Or is there in the 2017 version an option to check on updates on application's launch? (Provided that SoundTrax and CoverDesigner also come out in a 2017 version - which I will see once installation of WaveEditor has been completed.

  • Since v14 didn't come with those apps installed, it shouldn't be able to detect updates. It's kind of strange because v2017 did install with CoverDesigner. I can't remember what v2015 and v2016 installed. In the back of my mind I want to say they did install some of the free apps but not all of them. I could be wrong.

  • Hi Wither 1, here the report.

    NCC did pick up that SoundTrax and WaveEditor was outdated. But, as mentioned already, I could not update these apps via NCC.

    I downloaded the online installation apps for SoundTrax, WaveEditor and CoverDesigner.

    CoverDesigner
    previous version: 12.0.11000
    updated version: 18.0.8000

    SoundTrax and WaveEditor had been updated to version 15.0.6000

    After updating the 2 latter apps, NCC doesn't show any app as outdated. Interesting, however, that it did not pick up CoverDesigner as outdated.
    NCC version installed is 11.4.0017

    Maybe the culprit is an too old NCC. Could that not be kept up to date disregard the installed Nero version? Control Center anyway does not contribute to productivity, but rather to an updated system of also the free apps, as it seems to me. In case Nero could decide to keep Control Center always on the latest version, it probably would prevent the problem I faced, whereby NCC cannot update Nero apps.

    Thank you very much for your help. I will see in future if NCC picks up available updates for any of the free apps.

    Just after finishing all the updates, NCC shows me following update: Nero SharedVideoCodecs - 5.44 MB.
    I gave it a try to update these Codecs, but as before, the same error occurs that the system cannot find the specified path (I hope that's more or less the English version of my German error message).

    How could I update such components? I assume that I cannot download the VideoCodecs as installation file from the Nero website, can I?

    As I assume that the ControlCenter is the culprit. Is there any chance to make this version of ControlCenter behaving well, or would I need to install a newer version of ControlCenter? If a newer version is needed, where could I download it?

    I would be very happy if you could help me again.

  • I don't know how an old version of Nero can see updates for the newest free tools,
    It would have to be something that the free apps add to a version when they're integrated in. However, I don't remember any of the "applicable" versions I have installed, telling me there was an update to any of the free tools when the newest ones were released.

    When I installed the latest versions of those apps, I don't remember having to do any updates to v14 or any of the other "applicable" versions.

    Since you have the last update to v14, there's nothing you can do to the NCC to make it better.

    Which browser are you using. Perhaps you might try a different one when running the check for updates. For instance, I routinely use IE but sometimes switch to Firefox when I encounter updating issues. Doesn't always work.

    I usually (95 % of the time) use Firefox. Sometimes I use Chrome and when Microsoft need IE, I'm using that. However, I just cannot imagine how the use of a browser would change the behaviour of an app that works without use of browser. Do you think that I would need to open different browsers while NCC is trying to download the update?

    Regarding NCC: I managed to update it by downloading Nero 2017 trial offline installer, executing the installation file but not allowing it to install when asked. That made the installation file to unzip. Before running that I deleted the registry entry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ Installer \ Products \ 35588CBA077879B44BE3A50946A7B536.
    Then I went to [my account]\AppData\Local\Temp\NeroInstallFiles\NERO20170313090453000\applications\controlcenter and ran nero.controlcenter.msi.

    NCC is now updated to version 11.4.0018

    This update, however, did not solve the problem initially.

    Yet, what I realized is that the update would download to a certain degree before the message appears that specified path could not be found. I kept trying. Right now, I succeeded, while all the times before it wouldn't work, or would download only partially.

    So what could be the problem?

  • If one installs v2017 on a system which has older versions back to v11, the NCC version should be 11.4.0017. I don't know where the 18 comes from unless it's related to the Windows version. That is the case for a number of Nero apps.

    I simply wanted you to open a different browser than your normal one when you run the check for updates and try to install them.

    I don't know why you were getting the error message. Tech support might know the answer but they don't support anything older than v2015.
